Oh thank god they're gone

Today is a big day in the college football community. Two of the largest most gelled hair cut wearing, bro blasting, rosaries wearing douches are going to be drafted into the NFL and out of our lives. But before we forget these two, lets learn a lesson from their respective (Tim Tebow's. No respect can be garnered for Jim Clausen) college careers.

Let us not forget the years of the disciple Timothy Tebow the first. He began as a measly little freshman with a hankering to run QB draws and play the bitch of Chris Leak. With his precise handling, passed down to him from his father through years of black baby circumcision, the young boy became a man, winning a national championship, running and throwing for touchdowns.

The Colts' (white?) supremacy

(With the Colts leading the Jaguars 35-31 and 2:06 left to play, Indianapolis' undefeated season is being seriously threatened by an impending Jags drive. Peyton Manning and Dallas Clark converse on the sideline.)

Manning: Hay Dayluhss, why wasn't you at my poker tourneyment on Mondee?

Pete Carroll's playcalling gets douchey: Some USC-UCLgay photos

Henceforth, if any coach tries to call a tiemout against USC with Pete Carroll at the helm, the next play will always go for a touchdown. The circumstances of the timeout are completely irrelevant. Broken play? Hail Mary. Injured player? Hail Mary. Stopping the clock for a late-game field goal? Blocked kick for six.

That juncture probably lands in my top-3 best live-game moments of all time. So you can share my satisfaction, here are some pictures from the game, most of which are not of actual football.

HAPPY TURDUCKEN, HERM'S PERM! Dammit, this is tiresome.

How many of you love the movie "Clovervield?" If you don't, then stop reading Herm's Perm. I'm serious. J.J. Abrams worked hard on that movie. That film conquered Godzilla in one try. When else have the Americans dominated the Japanese so decisively.

Oh. Hiroshima.

Uhhhh.....

Fuck...

Happy Fourth, y'all...CELEBRATE!

Well here's "Clover," contrasted with your favorite Herm's Permer. If it doesn't ignite memories...well...fuck my word choice. Try to enjoy.

Perm Hall of Fame: Baron Davis

In recognition of, quite possibly, one of the most overlooked holidays in the winter months, Herm's Perm honors Baron Davis and his beard as part of the No Shave November celebration.

SUPER GHOST TO THE RESCUE!!!

I'm not sure if he had just been stuck in traffic on the way to heaven, but finally Jazzy blessed the Huskies. And great choice on the victim Jazz Howard. Impeccable. Just impeccable. Well, done my man. Earlier today, Connecticut took the deterioratling Irish to double overtime where the Huskies put the ball through the hearts of the Notre Dame fans. The Andre Dixon four-yard run to seal it almost looked like super ghost was leading the way, and his best friend, while wearing his number, had a winning performance at corner. Well done Uconn. We here at the Perm applaud you for taking those douchebags down another notch, even when we thought that notch couldn't be lowered anymore. WOOHOOO!

Twitter Feed Cements 2009: Year of the Front-Running Douchebag

As if all the douchebaggery wasn't apparent in the photos floating around the various news outlets today, lo and behold, we have our douchebag du jour firing up his Twitter feed.

Is this guy anyone important? No. Does crude stuff like this happen on the internet all the time? Yes. But let this serve as a reminder that this is what we all have to look forward to until next October. Further more, the front-running asshats of the world have had quite the year.

Hopefully, this doesn't cast a cloud over the prospect of having an enjoyable 2010. Wait, they are talking about WHO for an MVP?

Fuck.

Deadspin Loves Itself, and Herm Snatches Away the Vibrator

If, at any time, you visited Deadspin this week, there was a 167 percent chance that you read something about someone at ESPN fucking someone s/he shouldn't have. The other 32 percent was this. And Ted Williams, because why the fuck not, had to have a one-percent say. Figuratively and cryogenically, of course.

I really love Deadspin. My addiction to the site is like Ochocinco's thirst for attention: If shit doesn't happen daily, I'll drop the ball and wallow in self-pity like a five-year-old. So when we (Wilt and myself) broke the Chase Mejia story, expectations for notoriety were low. Like post-Palmer-ACL-expectations-low.

But then the Deadspin story hit - and logged more than 55,000 hits within 24 hours. As a result, we immediately had hopes for the elite "October: Fin." post. Aspirations as provocative as top-5 supremacy. Why? Because our assumption was that Deadspin couldn't possibly count every single separate ESPNHornDoggeryPost as uniquely separate. They were all about the same Bristol Bullshit.

Well, JesusUnholyStevePhillips'RuthlessCock, were we wrong.

Erin Calipari has a Superfan

As you may have read in a recent Wilt post, John Calipari isn't the most ethical recruiter. One of John's daughters, Erin, has been experiencing the wrath of an over-intrusive recruiter-of-sorts as well. Take a look at her Facebook status:

John Calipari, How I so Despise You.

I've been meaning to address this issue for a while now, but completely forgot as it was a friday story and the alcohol was calling. Now that it's back to the school week, I'm ready to put my full effort into it. Today's rant of furiosity: John Calipari.

Friday Afternoon Substance Abuse: Week 6

This is a weekly blog that compares the likes of college football and addictive drugs, and then rolls it into a tight little blunt I like to call the Friday Afternoon Substance Abuse. If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, then clearly you have participated in some Friday morning substance abuse. So get ready to sit Indian Native American style and stare at a bookshelf for 3 hours cause it's time to drop some acid.

Wilt has finally suffered his first loss of the season (now talking in third person). It was a trick game, one where the race or sexual deviation of the quarterbacks meant nothing. This is why Wilt is here this week to build his rep back into the great profit he once was (still going third person). That's why this week we will look to the future, as the past left us nothing to desire (resumes normal writing style). Or in other words, last week's games were shitty, and no enticing story lines came out of it.

Big FU to ESPN's Great John Hollinger

I recently got a letter from a reader asking:

What do you think about John Hollinger's PER ratings on ESPN?
-Imaji Nary (Buttphuck, Kansas)

Thanks for the question Imaji. I hear the weather down there is swampy and hot this time of year. Please use some protection, from the sun of course. To answer your question, No. I won't even comment on that. Anybody who sets up a ranking system where Andrew Bynum is listed as the eighth best player is either are from LA or doesn't know the term injury prone.

John used math to compile stats like a fucking junk yard, and then fancies it up with derivatives, sigmas and lamdas. It makes no sense. Especially when this person doesn't explain his scoring, or why the hell Greg Oden is ranked higher than Steve Nash, LaMarcus Aldridge and Carlos Boozer. So, to counter Hollinger's projections, I'll make up my own, stricly based on how badass, sexy, and awesome these players are.

#1-Lebron James- Yeah, go fuck your Chris Paul in the rectum Hollinger. Lebron is clearly the most talented, tooled, and badass player in the world, ever. This should go without saying, but for some reason I have to say it.

Herm's Perm Drinks Some Rick Reilly Haterade

I can't say I've ever disliked Rick Reilly. Because my interest initially gravitated toward Bill Simmons, I naturally sided with The Sports Guy in the top-ESPN columnist rivalry. I never boycotted Reilly's writing, just consciously ignored it. Especially if there was new Simmons material.

The light in which I viewed Reilly changed this past Tuesday, and it didn't get brighter.

As I entered Cromwell Field to watch the Trojans engage in intrasquad abuse for Competition Tuesday, I noticed a familiar face speaking with the SC Sports Information Director.

Oh, hey Rick Reilly I text in typical douchebag-boasting fashion to Wilt Stilts (by the way - quit changing your fucking name. We're big-time now). I stand about three feet to the left of the superstar writer and eavesdrop a bit on his conversation with the SID. He's cordial and engaging; he asks questions about the SID's family and gets his thoughts on the team and other headlines that day.

I follow up my text to Wilt with Should I ask him "Can I have your autograph, Mr. Simmons?" I consider the proposition and imagine two possible Reilly reactions:

GQ Identifies 25 Douchiest Colleges; Irony for GQ Readers Ensues

USC places 16th on the list because of our giant sunglasses. We're sorry that all of our students are blinded by each others' beauty.

KU did not make the list, probably because it rains too much in Kansas Kansans are too angry about their hideousness to put any effort into practicing douchebaggery.

Seriously, being a douche is hard work. Just ask GJay Cutler.

Lou Holtz's Perception of American Capitalism Matches his Perception of Notre Dame's Talent

Oh, yes. We're about to get stomach-deep in the bitch known as politics. You might want to double-bag this one.

lou holtz funny Pictures, Images and Photos

Before we dive in, lets recall a particularly befuddling prediction made by Lou Holtz last month, in which he proclaims Notre Dame will win the National Championship. Holtz's public display of disillusionment and separation from reality resurfaced in a recent Wall Street Journal article about the political affiliations of collegiate and professional head football coaches (the issue of this article's timeliness and relevance is an entirely separate story). Here are the coach's enlightening comments regarding why coaching reflects a republican/conservative mentality:

"You aren't entitled to anything. You don't inherit anything. You get what you earn—your position on the team," Mr. Holtz said. "You're treated like everybody else. You're held accountable for your actions. You understand that your decisions affect other people on that team…There's winners, there's losers, and there's competitiveness."

Congrats, Lou. You've effectively described every form of employment in the United States and perpetuated a stigma that Democrats are equivalent to socialists. Where is Dr. Kevorkian when you need him?

How exactly has Lou maintained his employment with ESPN? It's certainly not because of his tact and sensibility, or how he was hardly held accountable for his impeccable insight. And surely Lou's history as a coach doesn't entitle him to a position as an analyst, right? A prominent Democrat, who also happened to deliver the commencement speech at the coach's Alma Mater this past year, exhibited better sports foresight than Holtz.

If we give Lou's analytic skills the benefit of the doubt, and agree that Notre Dame's players over the past two seasons possessed enormous talent, then is Charlie Weis really being treated like everyone else?

If Republican coaches like Holtz ran the country, George Bush would be serving a third term and every year would begin with new prospects of a strong economy, only to end up like this:
